Erin Zammett on Dateline NBC!

On Sunday, February 5th, Dateline NBC will be running a long segment on Overlook author Erin Zammett, who learned in 2001 that along with the daily rigors of balancing life in New York, a job as an editor at Glamour Magazine, and relationships with friends and family, she now had to deal with a diagnosis of cancer at age 23. Her memoir My (So-Called) Normal Life documents her battle from diagnosis to complete remission and will be the focus of the Dateline NBC piece on Sunday at 7pm EST.

To learn more about Erin's story, you can access the diary entries she published with Glamour over the last 3 years here. More links and an excerpt from the book will be forthcoming on MSNBC.com and the Dateline NBC homepage.

I hope that you will widen your blogging perspective to include a little more than just information on your latest titles - perhaps thoughts about the industry? literary culture in general?

Thanks for the input. We have done some of this in the past here, for example: http://theoverlookpress.blogspot.com/2006/01/thoughts-on-2005-from-overlooks.html
and plan on branching out more in the future. Overlook fills an odd niche in the publishing world as one of the last small independent publishers with a large and varied general list, and we are looking forward to showing how we work within (and in some cases, without) the industry at large. So keep checking back, we'll have more of that on the way...
