Especially a great mention in today's New York Times Weekend Arts Section!
Rod Kedward's FRANCE AND THE FRENCH is featured in a William Grimes piece on French books! Salut!
“In "France and the French," the British historian Rod Kedward traces, with a sensitive finger, the fissures and cracks running through French social and political life in the 20th century.”
To celebrate, why not stop on by frenchculture.org on your travels! They're running a contest in which you can win a copy of FRANCE AND THE FRENCH for your very own. Viva! Nes pas?--Jim
There was another contest going on over at the excellent Paris Through Expatriate Eyes website, but the prizes were gobbled up within two days of the posting. At any rate, the Francophiles out there should check out the site. They've got quite an impressive roster of interviews.
