EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Dan Crissman, Editor

Here on The Wingéd Elephant, we are proud to share the great reviews, the book birthdays, and the celebrations surrounding our exciting list of titles. Nothing makes us happier than giving our beloved authors and their books the recognition they deserve. But who is behind the ubiquitous face of the Overlook Elephant?

It takes an enthusiastic and dedicated group to make it all happen, and we thought it was about time to introduce ourselves.

First up, please meet one of our editors, Dan Crissman, who focuses on acquiring nonfiction for Overlook. Dan currently lives in Beacon, NY, but will always consider Brooklyn his home. Here are five fun facts Dan shared with us about himself and his job:

OP: Describe your job in 140 characters or less.
DC: Reading, writing, editing, and dodging the secondhand smoke.
OP: What are you reading right now?
DC: The Brooklyn Brew Shop Beer Making Book by Eric Shea and Stephen Valand
OP: What is your favorite book that Overlook Press has published?
DC: Church Signs Across America by Steve and Pam Paulson
OP: If you weren't working in publishing, what would you be doing?
DC: Making considerably more money.
OP: What is your favorite word (in any language)?
DC: I'm not sure I have a favorite word, but I do have a least favorite word--gristle. An ugly word for an ugly thing.
Thanks, Dan!
Please be sure to check back next week when we feature another Overlook Press employee.
