Thousandfold Thought in Realms of Fantasy

There's a great review of R. Scott Bakker's THE THOUSANDFOLD THOUGHT in the June-July print issue of Realms of Fantasy... a quick quote:
"The Thousandfold Thought concludes with a tour-de-force set piece in which Bakker cuts back and forth between the battle for Shimeh--which must count as among the greatest descriptions of sorcery in war ever recorded--and each of his main characters as they pursue their personal agendas in the midst of the general chaos, following paths that intersect and converge in a play of plot and subplot that is like the climactic movement of a symphony.

Readers willl be grateful for the Encyclopedic Glossary, a nearly 100-page-long treasure trove of essential information about everyone and everything in The Prince of Nothing. An absorbing read in its own right, it's an indispensable reference guide for volumes past and still to come."

Realms of Fantasy also have a sample chapter up and a reader review on their website that can be found here.
Bakker's Prince of Nothing trilogy (including The Darkness that Comes Before and The Warrior Prophet) is also featured in a column on recommended fantasy series (also mentions Mervyn Peake's classic Gormanghast trilogy).
You can find more on our blog about Bakker and the Prince of Darkness trilogy here, here, here, and here.
