Attendance peaked at 700 immaculately-clad souls, many of whom braved the forbidding Chap Olympic Track and Fields, bordered by picket fences, to enter into such challenging events as the Three-Trousered Limbo, the Pipe Relay and the Hendrick's Steeplechase."
