R. Scott Bakker signed galley contest

R. Scott Bakker (who is very tall, by the way) stopped by the office a couple weeks ago and we were talking about all the different versions of his books that people have him sign...UK editions, Canadian editions, galleys, and incarnations he sometimes hasn't even seen before until they present them to him for signing.

We were able to dig up the last of the complete set of Overlook galleys for The Darkness that Comes Before, The Warrior Prophet, and The Thousandfold Thought that we could find in the office and had him sign them. Signed copies of a single book are selling online for up to $200, so I imagine that a set of signed galleys would be highly collectible.

He is working on his next book and plans to really dig in this fall and winter, so hopefully we will see something soon.

Previous posts on the Prince of Nothing series can be found here, here, here, here, and here, and of course you can always check out Scott's website at www.princeofnothing.com for the latest news and links to forums and discussion groups.

THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST, BUT AS OF 9/1/06 THE DRAWING IS CLOSED! Check here for the winner...

If I listened to all the critics and reviewers, there would have been many, many books that I would have passed over, yet thoroughly enjoyed.

True enough, but R. Scott Bakker is one of those rare cases where if you listened to the critics and reviewers, you would have gone out and bought the books and thoroughly enjoyed them nonetheless. Sometimes it happens that way too!
